We suggest you contact national professional associations to find out about local appraisers suited to your needs. We urge you to ask the associations about the levels of members' accreditation--standards and required training vary widely. Readers can then contact specific appraisers by phone to ascertain their expertise, experience, and fees, and to request a portfolio containnig their qualifications. While an initial discussion may be compimentary, appraisers charge for consultation, travel, photography, and time.
